Basic Payment Scheme & Greening

For the majority of rural businesses their basic payment is often a main source of income each year.
As regulations becomes increasingly tighter and guidance is regularly updated it is important to ensure that you are informed of these changes and retain the compliance within your business.
Completing your Single Application Form (SAF) each Spring is probably one of the most important tasks of your year...and often one of the most dreaded. As the Scottish Government move towards "online" systems it is often difficult to stay up-to-date with the ever changing technology.
This is where Cameron Consulting can help. Each year we submit an ever increasing number of Single Application Forms on behalf of our clients. Most appointments are undertaken on farm, where your maps and records are on hand and we are happy to walk out and look at any fields about which you have concerns in relation to claiming.
Over the past few years the "Greening" requirement has become a more important part of your basic payment and for those of you with crop. This often requires careful consideration before the sowing period, to ensure that you have the correct areas for the Ecological Focus Area (EFA) and also to meet the 2 crop or 3 crop rule. Each year Cameron Consulting meets with our clients in late Autumn to ensure that the proposed plan for the business meets the greening requirements for the forthcoming year. This gives our farmers peace of mind before cultivation begins.
